Kejriwal and Sisodia's bail hearing today, will both come out of jail? What are ED and CBI's preparations?

The bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who are embroiled in the liquor scam, will be heard today. Both are hoping to get out of jail. Meanwhile, according to sources, ED and CBI have also made their preparations. Manish Sisodia’s bail plea is expected to be heard in the Supreme Court at 11 am, while the court may pronounce its decision on Arvind Kejriwal’s plea at 3 pm.

High Court judge Neena Bansal Krishna had reserved the decision on CM Arvind Kejriwal’s petition challenging the arrest and interim bail on July 17. Also, today’s date was fixed for hearing on the regular bail petition. CBI had strongly opposed CM Kejriwal’s interim bail in the court and called the arrest legal. However, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to CM Kejriwal in the ED case. In such a situation, now everyone’s eyes are fixed on the court’s decision in the CBI case.

Sisodia has been in jail for 16 months
On the other hand, the Supreme Court will hear Manish Sisodia’s plea. The former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, while requesting bail, argued that he has been in jail for 16 months and there has been no progress in the case against him since October last year. A bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Vishwanathan will hear Sisodia’s petitions. Earlier, the court had agreed to hear his plea on July 16. The court has sought a reply from the CBI and the ED. The CBI arrested Sisodia on 26 February 2023 for his alleged role in the liquor policy case. The ED arrested him on March 9, 2023 in a money laundering case based on the CBI FIR.

Sunita Kejriwal said- I was implicated in a false case
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal on Sunday urged the people of Haryana to avenge the humiliation of sending her husband to jail in a false case by ensuring the party’s victory in the upcoming assembly elections. Addressing a gathering in Sampla, Haryana, Sunita Kejriwal said, “He did such works which the old parties and big leaders could never do. Now there is 24-hour electricity supply in Delhi and Punjab. Kejriwal has done a lot for the welfare of the people. Is there any party that has rejuvenated government schools, built mohalla clinics, improved the medical system and made electricity free?” All these works can be done only by Haryana’s Lal (Arvind) Kejriwal.
