New Delhi. Even though the Chief Minister of the country’s capital Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, is in jail, his government has not lagged behind in providing facilities to the common people. Along with the current government employees, retired employees are also taken full care of. The Kejriwal government of Delhi has once again taken a big decision. The government has announced to give another big gift to the people of Delhi. Thousands of people will benefit from this. Arvind Kejriwal’s government has made a big announcement for the pensioners of Delhi Electricity Board and has announced to give them cashless facilities in panel hospitals. Power Minister Atishi has announced this on Saturday.

Delhi’s Power Minister Atishi said that the pensioners of Delhi Electricity Board no longer need to run around offices for medical reimbursement. They will get cashless medical facilities in panel hospitals. She said that this decision of the Kejriwal government will benefit more than 20,000 pensioners of Delhi Electricity Board. She said that a notification will be issued in this regard in 1-2 days. She said that Arvind Kejriwal has always resolved the problems of pensioners. First he streamlined the pension and now keeping his promise, he has provided cashless medical facilities.

Reforms in the power sector
Power Minister Atishi said that in the year 2002, a big reform took place in the power sector of Delhi. Different sector units of the power sector were formed from the Delhi Electricity Board. In this, Delhi Government’s power generation companies, transmission company, Delhi Transco Limited and 3 Discoms do the work of power distribution in different parts of Delhi. She said that when the Delhi Electricity Board was unbundled, the Delhi Government took the responsibility of providing all the facilities to the government employees who were working in the board at that time, but it was unfortunate that many of the government employees who retired had to face a lot of difficulties. They often did not get pension on time. Along with this, other facilities were also not available.

The difficulties of pensioners will be eased
Power Minister Atishi said that when Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister of Delhi in the year 2015, the pensioners of Delhi Electricity Board put all their problems before him and I am happy that since then, under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, the system of all the pensioners of the board has been streamlined and all their needs have been met. These pensioners were still facing one difficulty. Currently, there are more than 20,000 pensioners in the board. Pensioners who used to avail medical facilities after retirement had to go through a difficult process of reimbursement. This process was done through the Pension Trust of Delhi Electricity Board. When an elderly pensioner had to stand in long queues from one office to another for medical bill reimbursement, he used to get very upset. Now these pensioners will be able to avail cashless medical facilities.
