Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested by ED under the Money Laundering Act.
ED had sent 9 summons to Delhi CM before his arrest, but Kejriwal did not appear.
New Delhi. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has sent CM Arvind Kejriwal to ED custody for 1111 days in the money laundering case related to Delhi liquor scam. ED had asked for 10 days remand. At the same time, three lawyers Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Vikram Chaudhary and Ramesh Gupta, appearing on behalf of the CM, had opposed the custody.
While demanding the remand of CM Kejriwal, ED said in the court room that a huge amount of electronic evidence was destroyed to hide the money trail, so that no one could catch them. Many phones were destroyed. The Enforcement Directorate has arrested CM Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the financing trail in the Delhi liquor scam case. A case has been registered against the CM under the Money Laundering Act.

‘Liquor policy made to fund Goa elections’
ED told the court that the new liquor policy was designed to benefit South Block. CM is the king-pin of this entire conspiracy. A total of 10 days’ custody was demanded by the ED. ED told the court that despite sending 9 summons, the CM did not cooperate in the investigation. This is the reason why there is a need to take him into custody and interrogate him. Changes were made in Delhi liquor policy regarding funding of Goa elections. It was said that Delhi government is working like a company. It was through this policy that money was arranged for the Goa elections.

While presenting CM Kejriwal in Rouse Avenue Court for custody, ED sought a remand of 10 days. It was said that he has to be interrogated thoroughly in this high profile case. ASG Raju said that various provisions of PMLA were followed in the arrest of the CM. The reason for the arrest has been given to Kejriwal in writing. Along with informing his family members about the arrest, they have also been informed about this in writing. ED claims that CM colluded with South Block in the present case.
