On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has now issued an orange alert for heavy rain in 19 states till August 2. Heavy rain is expected due to the formation of a low pressure area from the south of Pakistan to the Bay of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain may occur in eastern Madhya Pradesh from July 31 to August 2, Goa and Konkan on August 1, Kutch and Saurashtra areas of Gujarat on July 30, western Madhya Pradesh on August 2, Chhattisgarh on August 1 and 2 and central areas of Maharashtra on August 1 and 2.

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has said that Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, Haryana, Western UP, Coastal and South Karnataka, Odisha and Northeast states will also receive heavy rains till August 2. All these states have also received heavy rains during the last 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rains have also been recorded in the interior parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, southern areas of Karnataka. Heavy rains of up to 1 inch occurred at many places in Anand, Navsari, Gir Somnath, Sabarkantha of Gujarat. Waterlogging occurred at many places. In the southern areas of Kashmir Valley too, the temperature has come down due to heavy rains at many places in the last 24 hours. There was severe heat here in the last few days.
