Kerala Health Minister Veena George met with an accident in Malappuram district on Wednesday. Veena George’s car met with a road accident in Mancheri, Malappuram. The Kerala Health Minister suffered minor injuries in this accident. She suffered an injury to her left hand and was brought to Mancheri Medical College for treatment.

The Health Minister was on a tour of the landslide-affected district Wayanad. During this, her car met with an accident. She was going to meet the families of those who lost their lives in the Wayanad landslide and the injured. The state health department said that Veena George has suffered minor injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.

More than 300 houses were damaged.

Let us tell you that the number of people killed in the landslide incidents in Wayanad district has increased to 146 and more than 200 people have been injured. Rescue workers are searching for people trapped under the debris, due to which the death toll is expected to increase further. Official sources said on Wednesday that more than 180 people are missing and more than 300 houses have been completely damaged in Mundakkai and Choorlamala areas after the landslide.

Search for people buried under the debris continues

Rescue teams of the Army, Navy and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are searching for people trapped under the debris. The landslides occurred between 2:00 am and 4:00 am on Tuesday, depriving people sleeping in their homes of a chance to escape. According to data released by the Wayanad district administration late Tuesday night, about 30 human organs have also been recovered from Neelambur and Meppadi.
