Kia India recently introduced its famous 7-seater car Kia Carens in the Indian market. With the introduction of this car, the company had also started its official booking. Now the news is coming that the company can launch this SUV cum MPV for sale in the market on February 15. Only then the price of this car will be revealed. It is believed that after coming in the market, this car can directly compete with the Toyota Innova Crysta.
In fact, the space between the Maruti Ertiga and Innova in the MPV segment was vacant for a long time, and there was no such MPV car in this price bracket. In such a situation, Kia Carens will work to fill this empty space. Although the company is neither calling this car an MPV nor an SUV, according to the company, it is a recreational vehicle. The car incorporates the qualities of both an MPV and an SUV.
Kia Carens First Drive Review: A Perfect Family Car
The company will offer the Carens in two seating layouts, which will include both 6 seats and 7 seats, the special feature of this car is that its second row seats have been equipped with hydraulic tumble system. So to sit comfortably in the third row, all you have to do is press a button on the second row seat and the seat will fold up completely. So that an adult can easily go inside to sit in the back seat. Better space has been given inside the car, so that 7 people can travel in this car simultaneously without any problem.
Apart from this, Kia has also given a single-pan sunroof in this car, as you got to see in the company’s earlier model Seltos. While some rival models in the market are coming with a panoramic sunroof, Kia differentiates itself in this matter by providing roof mounted AC vents for the rear passengers. This is a better move for a bigger car, as usually the front AC vents in tall cars don’t do enough cooling at the rear.

The company is offering the Kia Carens with three engine options, in which the 1.4-litre turbo petrol variant comes mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) gearbox. It also has a paddle shifter and different driving modes. This feature will help it compete with other models in the market.
Will get better space than Innova:
In this, you get a full wheelbase of 2,780mm, which is 20mm more than the Alcazar in its segment and 40mm more than the Ertiga. Not only this, its wheelbase is also 30mm more than the Toyota Innova which is touted as the segment leader. The biggest advantage of this will be that you will get better legroom in the second and third row.
What will be the price:
However, it is a bit difficult to say anything about the price of this car before the launch. But experts believe that this car can be offered between Rs 13.5 lakh to Rs 19 lakh. Safety has also been taken care of in this car. It gets 6 airbags, hill descent control, tire pressure monitoring system and 4 disc brakes as standard. That is, you will get these features in every variant. It will be the only car in the country to have 6 airbags as standard, which is found only in the top models of most premium cars.
