Garbage Balloons in South Korea
North Korea is often in the news for its missile tests, but what North Korea has done this time is something that no country can even think of. North Korea has started spreading filth with the intention of disturbing South Korea. North Korea has released hundreds of balloons filled with garbage in South Korea. These balloons are filled with filth, so the South Korean authorities have asked the common people to stay indoors and not to go near or touch the balloons. Such balloons have been found in 8 provinces of South Korea. So far, the known number of such balloons is 260. Balloons have also fallen in the capital Seoul and the country’s south-eastern province of Gyeongsang.
South Korean army issued warning
The Joint Chief of Staff of the South Korean Army said that the garbage that came with the balloons included plastic bottles, parts of damaged shoes and mud. The army is currently investigating these balloons. The South Korean Army says that this action of North Korea is a clear violation of international laws and it is also a threat to the safety of our citizens. The South Korean Army warned North Korea to stop such inhumane acts.
Balloons filled with trash
After this incident, many people have shared videos and photos of the balloons on social media. According to local people, something was tied to the balloons with a string. When opened, toilet paper, batteries, garbage and other things were found in them. The administration has asked the citizens to inform the police about any such object. According to a Reuters report, the Military Explosive Ordinance, Chemical and Biological Warfare Response Team has been engaged in the investigation.
This is balloon ‘war’
Let us tell you that both North and South Korea have used balloons in their propaganda campaign since the Korean War in the 1950s. North Korea’s Deputy Defense Minister Kim Kang Il said in a statement, ‘Soon there will be piles of waste paper and garbage scattered in the border areas and the interior of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and they will realize how much effort is required to remove it.’ The Republic of Korea is the official name of South Korea while the North is called DPRK or Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
