Police arrested Sanjay Roy, who brutally raped a junior doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, and sent him to jail, but the things that are coming to light now are frightening. He has been accused of marrying five times, molesting women working with him and many other things. Now a woman from North Kolkata has made such allegations that are shocking. 1. The woman from North Kolkata said that three months ago she had gone to RG Medical College to get her child treated. At that time the accused Sanjay Roy himself had talked to her. Before buying the medicine, Sanjay managed to get her number. Since then he started calling the woman.
2. Accused Sanjay used to call many such women and pressurize them to meet. Not only this, he used to threaten that he will reveal their secrets to everyone. Kolkata Police has got the numbers of many such women from Sanjay’s CDR. Police has even called one of these women and questioned her.
3. On the other hand, the police have recorded the statements of 7 junior doctors. Out of these, 4 doctors had eaten together. These people were asked where they were at the time of the incident. When did they last see the junior doctor? Did they talk to anyone or not? If they did, then when and what did she say? Was she looking upset? Or was she taking someone’s name?
4. The police have found out that a doctor from the same hospital had first called the lady doctor’s parents. He had then told them that the junior doctor had committed suicide. The police have called the assistant supervisor to appear on Tuesday. He will be questioned.
5. Considering the seriousness of the case, the police has increased the 7-member SIT team to 28 members. This will make the investigation easier and detailed. Many experts have been included in it, who are known for investigating such cases.
6. The lady doctor’s DNA samples have been sent to the lab for analysis. The police will investigate every second of the CCTV footage of last month. Legal action will be taken against persons posting false information about the investigation.
7. Calcutta High Court will hear this case on Tuesday. It will decide why this case should not be handed over to CBI. CM Mamata Banerjee has already given time till Sunday to the police. She has announced that if the police does not make the disclosure till Sunday, then she will hand over the investigation to CBI.
8. After the Kolkata rape case, doctors in many states have declared a strike. New cards will not be made in Chandigarh PGI on Tuesday and only old cards will be allowed for entry, that too patients will be seen for just one and a half hours from 8 to 9.30. Indian Medical Association has come out in support of the striking doctors. IMA has written a letter to Health Minister JP Nadda.
