Health services paralysed in West Bengal

Doctors in almost all hospitals of West Bengal protested on Saturday against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor, due to which health services were affected in the entire state. Many junior doctors had started a strike eight days ago in protest against the incident. Senior doctors also joined the 24-hour nationwide strike on the call of IMA. Due to this, OPD services of both government and private hospitals were affected.

It is noteworthy that the body of the trainee doctor was found in the seminar room of RG Kar Hospital on August 9. The police arrested an accused in this connection the next day. The agency took the former principal of the hospital with them for questioning on Friday and he was questioned till 1.40 am late night.

IMA wrote a letter to PM Modi

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi demanding protection for doctors. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party had accused the Mamata Banerjee government regarding this transfer and said that the Mamata Banerjee government has transferred 43 doctors who were demanding justice.
