Kolkata. Resident doctors’ association has decided to go on strike and shut down alternative services across the country today to protest against the murder of a female doctor in the government RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. This can have a profound impact on medical services in government hospitals. Police has arrested civic volunteer Sanjay Rai on charges of murdering the female doctor. According to the police, Sanjay Rai had consumed alcohol and watched porn. After which he raped the female doctor and then strangled her to death.
The dead body of the female doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College. She was on night duty. Around 11 pm, the female doctor spoke to her family over the phone and then after having dinner, she went to the seminar hall at around 2 am. The female doctor was assaulted so brutally there that even her neck bone broke. Blood flowed from the private parts of the female doctor. There were injuries on her legs, neck, hands, eyes, fingers, lips as well. Police say that after raping and then killing the female doctor, the accused Sanjay Rai went to his home. There, he washed his clothes the next morning to destroy the evidence. Police have recovered blood-stained shoes from his house.
Regarding Sanjay Rai, the police says that he raped the female doctor alone in RG Kar Medical College and then killed her. The police says that Sanjay Rai has accepted the allegations against him. He has told that he watched a porn movie after drinking alcohol at around 11 pm on the night of the incident. After which he reached the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College at 3 am. Seeing the female doctor alone there, he raped her and then killed her. At the time of the incident, Sanjay Rai’s Bluetooth headphone was left there. Police arrested him after getting clues from this.
