But Krishna’s birth story is very interesting. Despite being an incarnation of Vishnu, Krishna was born in the prison. Not only this, soon after birth he had to separate from his parents. Let’s know about the birth story of Shri Krishna.
Why Krishna was born in prison
Sri Krishna was the eighth child of Devaki and Vasudev. He had six brothers before Krishna, who was killed by Mama Kansa one by one. His names were Celebrity, Sushen, Bhadrasen, Riju, Samadran and Bhadra. According to the legend, when Devaki and Vasudev were married, Kansa was about to take his sister Devaki to her in -laws. Then Akashvani took place in which it was said that Devaki’s eighth child would cause Kansa’s death. Then Kansa decided to kill Devaki. Devaki’s husband Vasudev begged his wife’s life. Kansa agreed to Vasudev, but put both of them in the prison and placed a condition that they would hand over their newborn as soon as they are born. One by one Devaki had six children, who were brutally killed by Mama Kansa. Yogamaya transferred the seventh child from Devaki’s womb to Vasudev’s second wife Rohini’s womb. After this, the eighth child was born as Shri Hari Vishnu avatar, which is called Shri Krishna. Thus, Krishna was also born in a prison like his other brothers.

Vasudev replaced his son Krishna with a newborn girl. Here Kansa came to know that his sister Devaki had given birth to a girl. He reached the prison to kill the child as before. But the child appeared as a girl goddess and warned Kansa that, “O Kansa! Saying this, that divine power became inner.
