New Delhi: Famous poet and Ram Katha connoisseur Dr. Kumar Vishwas can go to Rajya Sabha. Bharatiya Janata Party is preparing to send him to the Upper House on its ticket. Party sources claim that BJP may announce his seat soon. Some people are also talking about the candidature of famous folk singer Malini Awasthi. 68 members are retiring in Rajya Sabha between February and May this year. Notification for elections on some of these seats has also been issued.

The President remembered the contributions of Sushil Kumar Modi and Abhishek Singhvi. Dhankhar said the ministers who retired include Dharmendra Pradhan, Narayan Rane, Ashwini Vaishnav, Mansukh Mandaviya, Bhupendra Yadav, Purushottam Rupala, Rajeev Chandrashekhar, V Muraleedharan and L Murugan.

Notification for elections on three seats in Odisha
The formal notification for the election for three Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha was issued on Thursday, with which the process of filing nominations started. Notification for six Rajya Sabha seats of Bihar
The Election Commission issued notification on Thursday for elections on six Rajya Sabha seats of Bihar. The tenure of the MPs on these six seats is ending next month. Of these, three seats each are with the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the ‘Grand Alliance’. The process of filing nomination papers will end on February 15. Voting will take place on 27 February.

Nomination for three seats of Rajasthan
The process of nomination for three Rajya Sabha seats in Rajasthan started on February 8. Nominations can be filled till 15th February. Voting will take place on 27 February. The tenure of Rajya Sabha members from Rajasthan, Dr. Manmohan Singh (Congress) and Bhupendra Singh (BJP) is ending on April 3. Elections are to be held on one vacant seat. BJP Rajya Sabha member Kirori Lal Meena had resigned from the post of MP in December after being elected as MLA. There are 10 Rajya Sabha seats from Rajasthan. At present, there are six members of Congress and three of BJP. One seat is vacant.
