New Delhi, Out of the 49 people killed in the Kuwait fire, 42 are Indians. Many are also injured, who are being treated in hospitals. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirtivardhan Singh is in Kuwait, and is meeting the injured. The government is busy preparing to bring the bodies of the casualties, so that they can be handed over to their families as soon as possible. The Indian Air Force’s C-130J Super Hercules aircraft has been kept on stand-by at Hindon Airbase. It can come to India from Kuwait without stopping. Its speed is also surprising.
The Minister of State for External Affairs, who reached Kuwait, has met the Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya. He assured to send back the bodies of the Indian citizens killed in the fire soon. The Indian Embassy said, the Foreign Minister has assured to complete the process of proper treatment of the injured and sending the bodies soon. Minister Kirtivardhan Singh has visited Jaber and Mubarak Al Kabir Hospital and met the injured and enquired about their condition. All the injured are safe. However, information has not been given yet about how their bodies will arrive. But defense officials in Delhi said that the Air Force’s C-130J Super Hercules aircraft has been kept on stand-by.
