Thiruvananthapuram: After the fire in Kuwait, many families in Kerala are in a state of confusion. They are grieving the loss of their loved ones. They are worried and immersed in grief for their relatives. However, they have not yet received any information from the authorities about their relatives. Meanwhile, the state government has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased. Many news channels are showing pictures of 14 people from Kerala who died in this fire tragedy. However, many families told the media that they have not yet received any official information about their relatives.
CM called an emergency meeting
Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called an emergency cabinet meeting on the Kuwait fire incident. In this meeting, it was decided that the family of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh by the Kerala government and Kerala Health Minister Veena George will leave for Kuwait today. She will assist in bringing the bodies of the deceased to India along with the Foreign Ministry.

On the other hand, a grief-stricken parent said, “His phone is still ringing. We don’t know what to do.” According to several reports, people from Kerala’s Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Kottayam, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasargod districts have lost their lives in this fire in Kuwait. The family of a person from Punalur in Kollam district said that they have come to know from friends that he is missing. Relatives said, “We have not received any official information yet, but our friends living there have confirmed the incident.”
The fire broke out in the kitchen of a six-storey building
Locals and relatives are seen visiting the homes of these bewildered families. They are seen consoling the families. According to Kuwaiti officials, the fire broke out in the kitchen of a six-storey building in Mangaf area of Kuwait’s southern Ahmadi governorate. 195 workers of the same company lived in the building.
A total of 49 people including 40 Indians died
49 foreign workers including 40 Indians have died in this accident. 50 others were injured and are undergoing treatment. After this incident, action is being demanded against the building owners and company owners.
