All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) launched nationwide protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in Patna. Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party MP and the Waqf Amendment Bill, Jagdambika Pal, Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee, criticized the nationwide movement of AIMPLB and accused the board of politicizing the issue. Pal said, “The way AIMPLB is doing politics in the name of Waqf, it is trying to mislead the country’s minorities and Muslims.” Addressing the ongoing dispute over the bill, he cited the report of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), indicating that the government was preparing to present the revised law. He said that despite the bill not yet passed, AIMPLB is already protesting for political reasons. Pal said, “Even the law has not come yet; on the basis of planned politics, they are already going to Patna.”
