New Delhi. RJD supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav is once again in danger of arrest. Gwalior’s MPMLA court has issued an arrest warrant against Lalu Yadav. This warrant is related to the purchase and supply of weapons under Form 16 of the Arms Act in the years 1995 and 1997. On the basis of this form, arms are given by the government to the people who apply for arms. It is alleged that weapons were purchased from an arms dealer using fake documents of Form 16. Not only this, these weapons were being supplied at various places.
In this case, Raj Kumar Sharma, the operator of an arms firm in UP, is accused of fraudulently purchasing arms and cartridges from three arms companies of Gwalior between 1995 and 1997. Sharma had sold the purchased arms and cartridges in Bihar. The name of Lalu Prasad Yadav is also included among the people to whom these weapons were sold. In this case, trial has started against 6 accused while 2 have died. 14 accused in this case are absconding.
Lalu Yadav was earlier declared absconding in this case. There was confusion regarding Lalu Yadav. According to the documents, the name of accused Lalu Prasad’s father is Kundrika Singh. Whereas RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s father’s name is Kundan Rai. Lalu Prasad’s father’s name is mentioned in the absconding panchnama, but the father’s name was not there in the list of absconding accused presented by the police in the court. However, later in the police investigation it came to light that this Lalu Yadav was none other than the former Chief Minister of Bihar, then this matter was brought before the MPMLA court of Gwalior. The police had filed the charge sheet in this case in July 1998.
