There is continuous heavy rain in Jammu region. Due to this, there has been a landslide on the main road from Katra to Mata Vaishno Devi Darbar Bhawan. Due to this landslide, the journey to the Bhawan through the main road has been affected. According to the report, this landslide has happened near Deori on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra route. Due to this, the journey has been stopped for the time being.
It is worth noting that heavy rains are falling in this area. Due to this, this landslide has happened. However, there is no news of any loss of life or property due to the landslide. According to a PTI report, the pilgrimage has started through an alternate route. Members of the Shrine Board said that they are keeping a close watch on the situation.
According to the India Meteorological Department, there has been very heavy rain in many areas of Jammu region in the last 24 hours. The pilgrimage to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi starts from Katra. Katra is located at the base of Trikuta hill. The court of Mata Vaishno Devi is located on Trikuta hill.
According to the Meteorological Department, 13 cm of rain has been recorded on this hill within 24 hours. Heavy rain warning has been issued in the entire Jammu region for the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, many areas of Jammu and Kashmir have been flooded due to heavy rains and cloudburst. Many areas in Bandipore district are in the grip of floods. Rain is expected in Jammu area for the next three-four days. Improvement in the situation can be seen after August 20.
