The government has taken major administrative action after the protests by trainee women soldiers in Gorakhpur against chaos. Commandant Anand Kumar and Platoon Commander Sanjay Rai have been suspended in this case.
At the same time, DIG and Principal of Gorakhpur PTS Rohan P. Kanay has been awaited. According to departmental sources, during the protest, women soldiers had raised their voice about the poor living system, poor catering and irregularity in training. On catching the matter, the government immediately investigated and took action and removed the responsible officials.
Meanwhile, Additional SP Niharika Sharma, posted at the Central Reserve Store in Kanpur, has been appointed as commander in charge of the 26th Corps PAC of Gorakhpur. Also, PTS Gorakhpur ASP Anil Kumar-1 has been made the Principal in charge.
This decision is considered an important step towards justice for women soldiers. According to sources, the inspection and review process will be further tightened regarding the arrangement of training centers in future so that the recurrence of such incidents can be stopped.
