The Crime Branch has achieved great success as part of a campaign against drug addiction in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. The police have arrested a smack smuggler, who used to bring smack from Jhalawar and supply it in Jaipur. Smack worth about Rs 1 crore 6 lakh has been seized from the possession of the smugglers caught. After this action, the police has become alert about the network of drug addicts active in the city.
Used to transact money with e-Mitra
Police investigation has revealed that the accused used to adopt technical method instead of traditional transactions for smuggling of smack. He used to make payment through e-Mitra centers so that no direct record of money is available and the police would have difficulty in tracking. This method is considered to be quite new in smuggling cases so far.
Crime branch was looking for a long time
The Jaipur Crime Branch was receiving information for the past several days that a new smack smuggler is active in the city, which is supplying drugs from the outer districts. A special team was formed seriously on this information. With the help of informants, the accused was identified and he was caught by laying a trap.
After the arrest, when the police searched him, a huge amount of smack was recovered from him, which has been valued at Rs 1 crore 6 lakh in the international market.
Khoh Nagorian police station is being interrogated
After the arrest, the accused has been handed over to the Khoh Nagorian police station, where he is being interrogated intense. The police is trying to know who the accused used to supply smack to whom, and is there any big gang active.
A police official said, “The smuggler used to bring smack from Jhalawar and supplied it to the youth in many areas in Jaipur. The way of ordering money from e-Mitra was very cleverly, so that the direct record of transactions could not be found.”
Youth was making a victim of intoxication
According to police sources, the accused used to supply smacks in some educational institutions and labor settlements in Jaipur. Due to this, not only did the younger generation seem addictive, but the roots of crime were also getting stronger in the society. Police believe that the revelation of the network of this gang may lead to many more arrests in the future.

The Crime Branch team is now investigating the smuggler’s mobile phones, bank accounts and social media activity to expose the entire network. After the case came to light, the police operations against drug trafficking have been intensified.
