Security forces have achieved great success against terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Within the last 48 hours, six terrorists were killed in a joint operation of the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF. In a joint press conference held in Srinagar on Friday, IGP (Kashmir) V.K. Birdi Kumar, Major General Dhananjay Joshi (GOC, Victor Force) and IG CRPF Mitesh Jain gave this information.
Two operations, two places, six terrorists killed
IGP Birdi said that two separate campaigns were carried out in Kellar (Shopian) and Tral. In both areas, joint forces took accurate action and killed 6 terrorists. “We are committed to ending terrorist ecosystems in the Kashmir Valley. Two successful operations in the last 48 hours are proof of this.”
How did the operation go? Major General Joshi told
Major General Dhananjay Joshi spoke in detail on the strategy and challenges of the operation:
On May 12, terrorist activity was reported in the upper areas of Keller.
On the morning of May 13, the army saw a stir in the area and challenged the terrorists.
Firing started on behalf of the terrorists, in response to which they were piled up.
The second operation took place in a village in Tral, where the terrorists hid in the houses. “The biggest challenge for us was the safety of the common citizens of the village. This mission was carried out with great vigilance.”
Shahid Kuttay was included in the slain terrorists
According to security officials, one of the slain terrorists has been identified as Shahid Kuttay. He was involved in two major terrorist attacks, including an attack on a German tourist. “Shahid was also involved in funding for terrorist activities,” said Major General Joshi.
Action intensified after ‘Operation Sindoor’
Significantly, this operation is done when India destroyed 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK under ‘Operation Sindoor’ after the Pahalgam attack. This included Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Bahawalpur headquarters and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s training camp at Murid. About 100 terrorists were killed in this operation, after which Pakistan retaliated and targeted citizens, and the situation became tense. However, the two countries later announced a ceasefire.
conclusion
These two successful operations in Jammu and Kashmir have made it clear that India has now adopted a strict and decisive attitude against terrorism. After ‘Operation Sindoor’, a major step has been taken towards breaking the terrorist network in the valley with the aggressive strategy and coordinated action of the security forces. In the words of IGP Kashmir, “This fight is not just arms but of spirits. And our soldiers once again proved that no threat to India’s sovereignty would be tolerated.”
