New Delhi. A case of Union Minister Shantanu Thakur receiving threats has come to light. Thakur, Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, was threatened through a letter. It was claimed that this letter has been sent by the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), in which it has been threatened with consequences if NRC and CAA are implemented in West Bengal.
It was written in the letter sent to the Union Minister, ‘If NRC is done in West Bengal and there is atrocities on Muslims, then Bengal and India will burn. Your Thakurwadi will also be burnt. No one will be able to save him. Have you heard the name of Lashkar-e-Taiba? We are members of Lashkar, as per the instructions of Hafiz Saeed, we will start our work as soon as NRC is implemented in West Bengal.
Shantanu Thakur is an Indian politician who reached the Parliament House during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by winning from 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. In the cabinet of PM Narendra Modi, he was made the Minister of State in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways after the cabinet reshuffle in July 2021.
