New Delhi. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has strongly reprimanded Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for not submitting the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) report on time. The Lieutenant Governor has asked the Chief Minister to submit the report of the CAG in the near future. Not only this, the Lieutenant Governor has also written a letter to CM Kejriwal in this context, in which he has strongly instructed CM Kejriwal to refrain from doing so in future. The LG has written in his letter that if the CAG report is not submitted on time, the government’s financial exchequer gets a serious blow. There is a lot of damage done financially. So take special care of this thing. The Lieutenant Governor has written in his letter that due to not presenting the CAG report on time, discussion is not held in the assembly and we are not able to take any meaningful decision for the interest of the public. It is well known that according to the Constitution, the CAG submits its report to the government, on which the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister first put their seals. After this, it is presented before the Lieutenant Governor for discussion in the Legislative Assembly, so that beneficial decisions can be taken in the context of the public.
What has the Lieutenant Governor written in his letter?
In his letter, the Lieutenant Governor has mentioned many such things, which appear to be of serious nature. Those which need immediate attention and after taking cognizance of these, corrective action needs to be taken. Let us tell you that earlier, the Lieutenant Governor had alleged in his report that the State Finance Audit Report of 2017-18, Revenue Economic, Social and General Sector and Public Sector Undertakings Report of 2018-19, General Social and Economic Sector (General Social and Economic Sector) Report of 2019-20. Non-PSU) reports and GNCTD’s Finance Accounts report for 2020-21 are pending with the government till the end of June.
However, no response has been given from the Delhi government in response to these allegations. However, this is not the first time that there is a dispute between the Lieutenant Governor and the Delhi government over any issue, but even before this, there has been a rift between the two on many issues. Now what is the reaction from the Kejriwal government regarding this whole episode. All eyes will be on this.
