Rajim. In the Rajim Maghi Punni Mela organized on the banks of Triveni Sangam, the Sant Samagam ceremony was inaugurated on Wednesday evening by the Chief Guest Governor Ms. Ansuiya Uikey in the presence of the saint. The Governor prayed for the prosperity of the people of the state by worshiping Lord Shri Rajivlochan and Mahanadi. In the ceremony, Endowment Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Rajim MLA Amitesh Shukla, Chairman of Goseva Commission Mahant Ram Sundar Das, Mahant Govardhan Sharan Maharaj, Sant Vichar Saheb, Sidgheshwaranand Maharaj, Umesh Anand Maharaj, Devdas Maharaj were present on the stage.
Addressing the function, Chief Guest Ms. Uike said that it is a great pleasure to visit the holy city of Rajim. I extend my heartfelt greetings to the saints and devotees who have come to the Rajim Punani fair. He said that it is heartening to visit the holy city of Chhattisgarh, Rajim. Not only is there a confluence of Sondhur, Parri and Mahanadi, but there is also a confluence of religion, spirituality and faith. The gathering of sadhus has become a nationwide event along with Chhattisgarh. Any fair has community and social significance. He said that India has been the land of saints and saints, they attain purity by their arrival. The life of saints is always devoted to charity. He said that Rajim Punani fair also has cultural significance. Folk Natya and folk dance events have been organized in this fair. Such events keep people connected with their ancient traditions and also impart knowledge to the new generation. Ms. Uikey said that events like Rajim Maghi Punni Mela are capable of attracting and giving wonderful experiences to the tourists. Today the need has increased that we should preserve and promote art, literature and culture and make such efforts so that our art, culture and literature are connected with the coming generations.
The decision of prohibition is historic: Amitesh: Rajim MLA Amitesh Shukla said that this holy land of Rajim is known as Prayag of Chhattisgarh. He underlined the importance of this area.
