The reason is that from today all the contracts in Noida and Greater Noida area will remain vacant. Liquor shops in Noida and Greater Noida of Gautam Buddha Nagar constituency will remain closed for a period of 48 hours from 6 pm on Wednesday. The officers provided this information.
Actually, voting will be held on Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha seat on 26th April. In such a situation, in view of the voting, all the liquor shops falling in the constituency will be closed 48 hours in advance. District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar Srivastava said that compliance with the order will be strictly ensured in Gautam Buddha Nagar and violators will face legal action.
District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar Srivastava further said, ‘As per rules, liquor shops should be closed 48 hours before the elections. Here, all authorized liquor shops will remain closed from 6 pm on Wednesday till 6 pm on Friday (April 26) or till the end of polling time. Now when liquor will not be available in the shops in Noida-Greater Noida area due to Model Code of Conduct, in such a situation you cannot spill the liquor in this entire area.
However, you can go to Delhi adjacent to Noida-Greater Noida and buy liquor and also drink alcohol. There are elections in Delhi in the sixth phase. Voting will be held in Delhi on 25th May. Therefore, liquor shops will remain open in Delhi for now. But in Noida, since voting is on 26th April, people of Noida-Greater Noida will not be able to buy liquor in this area from today. If anyone is caught with liquor, it will be considered a violation of the model code of conduct and action will be taken against him.
