Alwar Lok Sabha seat of Rajasthan is adjacent to Haryana. Through this, Rajasthan knocks on the doors of Delhi. And the knock is such that its political resonance has shaken the Lok Sabha many times. Understanding and knowing the politics of Alwar is not as easy as you might be thinking. The soil here has given many great leaders to the country. On Alwar Lok Sabha seat, BJP has fielded experienced political player and Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav. To challenge Bhupendra Yadav, Congress has fielded youth leader and Mundawar MLA Lalit Yadav. Both the leaders are contesting Lok Sabha elections for the first time. Bhupendra Yadav belongs to Ajmer, Rajasthan. He has obtained LLB degree. In 2012, BJP made him a member of Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. In 2018, he again became a Rajya Sabha MP.
But before politics, let’s talk about Alwar and its problems. Alwar is an industrial city, but people are still yearning for essential facilities. Alwar has many problems, but not even a single solution has been found. In the last 70 years, many governments have come and gone, but Alwar kept waiting for the path of development. With the changing times, it is now expected that the picture of Alwar will also change, but this dream remained only a dream.
There is a problem of drinking water and water for irrigation in Alwar district for a long time. Due to lack of rain, the groundwater level in the district is continuously declining. Due to this, water is not available for agricultural irrigation. This has had a direct impact on the economic condition of the farmers of the district. Apart from water, the issue of running passenger train from Alwar to Delhi has been raised for a long time.
Dominance of Yadavs in Alwar
Alwar seat came into existence in 1952. In the beginning it was dominated by the politics of individualism. There are 20 lakh, 52,608 voters in Alwar. Yadavs have always dominated the Alwar Lok Sabha seat. But initially non-Yadavs won the elections from here, but the situation changed after the Emergency and it still continues. In Alwar Lok Sabha, there are 3.3 lakh voters from Meo community, about 4.5 lakh SC voters, 3.10 lakh Yadav community voters, 1.2 lakh Jat voters, 1.3 lakh Meena voters, 1.2 lakh Brahmin voters and 90 thousand Vaishya voters. Apart from these, there are 90 thousand Punjabis and Sikhs, 70 thousand Gurjars, 80 thousand Rajputs, 1.4 lakh Mali community and about 1 lakh voters from other castes.
In 1952, Prime Minister of Matsya Sangh Babu Shobharam was victorious from Alwar Lok Sabha seat. He won the election on Congress ticket. He repeated the victory in 1957. In 1962, independent Kashi Ram Gupta was elected from here. In 1967, Master Bholanath won on Congress ticket. In 1971, Dr. Hariprasad Sharma of Congress won.
After the Emergency, this seat started being seen as Ahir and non-Ahir area. In 1977, Ramjilal Yadav of Janata Party won the elections from Alwar. But in 1980 and 1984, Ram Singh Yadav of Congress captured this seat. In 1989, once again Ramjilal Yadav of Janata Dal made a comeback, but on Janata Dal ticket. In 1991, BJP gave ticket to Mahendra Kumari, mother of sitting MP Jitendra Singh and opened her account. In 1996, Naval Kishore Sharma of Congress once again won from here. In 1998, Ghasiram Yadav of Congress became MP from here. In 1999, Alwar seat again came to BJP and Jaswant Yadav was elected MP. In the elections of 2004 and 2009, Congress again turned the tables and captured this seat. In the Modi wave of 2014, Mahant Chandnath represented Alwar in Delhi, but in the by-election held in 2018, Dr. Karan Singh Yadav of Congress became the candidate. Mahant Balaknath of BJP has won in the last Lok Sabha elections of 2019. This time BJP has made Bhupendra Yadav its candidate. He will face Congress’s Lalit Yadav.

Even though more Congress MLAs than BJP have won from Alwar in the assembly elections, the equation in the Lok Sabha will be different. In which PM Modi will also be a big factor between victory and defeat.
