New Delhi. Voting will be held on 93 seats in 12 states and union territories in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday. In this phase also the fate of many veteran leaders is at stake. These include names of many stalwarts including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Jyotiraditya Scindia. Voting will be held on high profile seats of Gandhi Nagar and Rajkot of Gujarat, Guna, Vidisha and Rajgarh of Madhya Pradesh, Ratnagiri Sindhu Durg and Baramati of Maharashtra, Agra of Uttar Pradesh.
In the third phase, elections are to be held on 26 Lok Sabha seats of Gujarat, the most important of which is Gandhinagar seat, from here Union Home Minister Amit Shah is in the electoral fray. He is the BJP candidate from this seat for the second time. He is contesting against Congress’s Sonal Ramanbhai Patel and BSP’s Mohammad Danish Desai. At the same time, BJP has made Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya its candidate from Porbandar Lok Sabha seat. He is facing competition from Lalit Vasoya of Congress and NP Rathod of BSP.
Mandaviya is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the first time. He is a Rajya Sabha MP twice. Apart from this, Union Minister and senior BJP leader Purushottam Rupala is contesting from Rajkot seat of Gujarat. He will face Congress’s Dhanani Paresh and BSP’s Chaman Bhai Nagjibhai Savsani. Voting is also to be held on Guna Lok Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is contesting on this seat from BJP ticket. On this seat, Congress has fielded Yadavendra Rao Deshraj and BSP has fielded Dhaniram Chaudhary.
At the same time, former CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan is trying his luck from Vidisha seat of Madhya Pradesh. His competition is against Congress’s Pratap Bhanu Sharma and BSP’s Kishan Lal. Apart from this, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh is contesting from Rajgarh seat of Madhya Pradesh. BJP has made Rodmal Nagar its candidate and BSP has made Dr. Rajendra Suryavanshi its candidate from this seat. In the third phase, elections are to be held on 10 Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh. In this, Union Minister SP Singh Baghel is in the electoral fray from Agra. On this seat, Samajwadi Party has given ticket to Surendra Chandra and BSP has given ticket to Pooja Amrohi.
This time an interesting contest is being seen on Baramati seat of Maharashtra. From here, Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar is contesting from Nationalist Congress Party, against her on this seat, her sister-in-law and Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule is contesting on the ticket of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar). Apart from this, BJP has made Union Minister Narayan Rane its candidate from Ratnagiri Sindhudurg Lok Sabha seat. He is contesting against Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Vinayak Raut.
