Voting for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections has been completed and now voting for the seventh and final phase will be held on June 1. Counting of votes will be held on June 4. The Election Commission has released the voting data of the sixth phase on Tuesday. According to the released data, for the second consecutive time in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, the number of women voters was 3 percent more than male voters. Earlier, in the fifth phase also, women voted in greater numbers than men. Let us tell you that voting was held for 58 parliamentary constituencies in the sixth phase on May 25.
According to the Election Commission, a total of 63.37 percent voters exercised their voting rights in the sixth phase, in which 61.95 percent eligible male voters and 64.95 percent eligible female voters voted, while only 18.67 percent of third gender voters reached the booth and cast their vote. The Election Commission releases a final data a few days after every phase. Recently the Commission has made the data of the sixth phase public.
Women of Bihar won
In Bihar, 62.95 percent women voted compared to 51.95 percent men.
In Jharkhand, 65.94 percent women and 64.87 percent men voted.
In Uttar Pradesh, 57.12 percent women and 51.31 percent men voted.
In West Bengal, the voting percentage of women was 83.83 percent and that of men was 81.62 percent.
In Odisha, the voting percentage of women (74.86 per cent) was only slightly higher than that of men (74.07 per cent).
In the fifth phase, 63 percent women voters reached the polling booths as compared to 61.48 percent men. In Bihar, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh, the participation of women was higher than that of men.
The poll panel has said that the final polling results will be available only after the postal ballots are counted and then added to the total polling percentage.
