Lok Sabha Elections 2024: A close contest is expected on many seats in the country in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Among these, Khachariyawas, the urban seat of Jaipur, Rajasthan, is one. BJP has fielded Manju Sharma from here. BJP has given a chance to Manju Sharma by canceling the ticket of its sitting MP Ramcharan Bohra. At the same time, Congress has expressed confidence in Pratap Singh, who was MLA from this seat twice. Pratap Singh has also contested Lok Sabha elections from here once. The main fight on this seat is between BJP and Congress. The reason for this is the strong existence of no other party.
Why did BJP give ticket to Manju Sharma?
Manju Sharma is the daughter of former BJP MLA from Hawa Mahal and veteran leader Bhanwarlal Sharma. She is very close to Prime Minister Modi. His father died during Corona. Bhanwarlal Sharma was one of the old leaders of Jan Sangh. He was the only leader to win this seat for two consecutive times. No other candidate could win re-election here. Manju Sharma’s father Bhanwarlal Sharma was MLA from here for 26 years. He was elected to the assembly 6 times from Hawa Mahal. BJP has given ticket to Manju Sharma because of her daughter and being a hard-working BJP leader as well as being a Brahmin face. The Brahmin candidate is dominating this seat.
Congress fielded Pratap Singh at the last moment
Congress had earlier given ticket to Sunil Sharma from this Jaipur seat. But due to one of his controversial statements, Congress finally canceled Sunil’s ticket. Now former minister and two-time MLA Pratap Singh has been given the ticket for 2024. In such a situation, the contest on this seat is now not only BJP vs Congress but also Brahmin vs Rajput. Manju Sharma is a Brahmin woman, while Pratap Singh is a Rajput man. In such a situation, it is considered certain that there will be a close contest between the two leaders.
