New Delhi. Sharad Pawar’s NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) has announced five candidates of his party for the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. Party leader Jayant Patil announced the names of all the candidates through a press conference. Sharad Pawar has once again made his daughter Supriya Sule a candidate from Baramati seat. NCP Sharad Pawar faction has fielded Amar Kale from Wardha and Bhaskar Rao Bagre from Dindori, while Amol Kolhe from Shirur and Nilesh Lanke from Ahmednagar have been fielded. Amar Kale, the candidate from Wardha, is a former Congress MLA. He had joined NCP Sharad faction on Friday itself.
Nilesh Lanke had become emotional while resigning from the Assembly a day earlier on Friday, March 29. He had said that Sharad Pawar wants him to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Ahmednagar. Describing Sharad Pawar as God, Nilesh Lanke said that he has never seen God but Sharad Pawar is a great person like God. He has asked to contest elections, in such a situation what standing does an MLA have in front of his words. Clearing his position, Nilesh Lanke apologized to Ajit Pawar and stressed the need to join Sharad Pawar’s faction. He said that bitter decisions have to be taken to defeat the rulers. In the meeting of NCP Sharad faction held on Friday, 10 Lok Sabha seats were discussed. A day after this, today i.e. on Saturday 30th March, the names of five candidates have been announced. It is expected that soon candidates will be declared on the remaining seats also.
