North Korea balloons
South Korea has decided to spread propaganda against its neighbouring country by installing loudspeakers on the border with North Korea. This decision of South Korea can worsen the situation between the two countries. Earlier in 2015, South Korea had done this and North Korea, enraged by this, fired shells. South Korea also retaliated. However, no one was killed. Now once again the situation is worsening between the two countries.
South Korea and North Korea have been enemies for a long time and keep running propaganda against each other. South Korea had sent leaflets through balloons, which had anti-North Korea written on them. In response to this, North Korea has sent more than 1000 balloons filled with garbage to South Korea. Now to respond to this, South Korea has decided to spread propaganda against North Korea through loudspeakers on the border.
What will play on the loud speaker?
Following an emergency security meeting chaired by South Korean National Security Director Chang Ho-jin, officials agreed to build loudspeakers and begin broadcasting in border areas, Seoul’s presidential office said in a statement on Sunday. South Korea can use the loudspeakers to play K-pop music, outside news and anti-Pyongyang broadcasts along the border between the two countries. According to observers, North Korea is particularly sensitive to these broadcasts.
North Korea fired shells in 2015
In 2015, when South Korea resumed loudspeaker broadcasts for the first time in 11 years, North Korea fired artillery shells across the border, prompting South Korea to retaliate, according to South Korean officials. However, reports said there were no casualties.
