Luxury cars, sharp music, hoodgang on the streets ... 7 accused of gangrape in Karnataka celebrated by taking out road shows

On May 20, 2025, 7 accused were granted bail by the court in the Hangal gang rape case in Karnataka. After getting bail, the accused took out a victory procession by bike and car in Akki Alaur village, whose video went viral on social media. The disputed celebrations gave rise to heavy anger and tension in the area, after which the police took immediate action and registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Hangal police station.

Disputed road show after bail

Haveri Superintendent of Police (SP) Anshu Kumar said that after getting bail, 5 of the accused have been detained. The accused took out a procession from a car and bike around Akki Alaur village, in which they were seen making gestures of victory and shouting slogans. He made a video of this procession and posted on social media. This video led to spreading outrage among the local people. Police said that this incident is a challenge for law and order and such acts will not be tolerated.

Police filed the case and appeal

SP Anshu Kumar further said, “After getting bail, the accused created a ruckus and took out a rally to celebrate. We have registered a case under Section 189/2, 191/2, 281, 351/2, 351/3 and 190 of IPC in Hangal police station. We have detained 5 accused and will be produced in court soon. The police will also appeal to the police.”

Question on dispute and law and order on bail

As soon as the video of the celebrations taken out in Akki Alaur village went viral, there was a huge resentment among the local people. Many people described this behavior of the accused against justice and sensitivity. This incident has also raised many questions on the functioning of law and order.

The police, taking prompt action, have detained 5 accused and are preparing to file an application in the court to cancel the bail. The Haveri police has also made it clear that no discounts will be given in this case and the accused will be brought to the dock of justice.

conclusion

The Hangal gang rape case has a major controversy over the issue of safety and justice of women in Karnataka.
