Bhopal (New World Representative). Even after giving repeated notices, 1106 doctors, who came out of the government medical colleges of the state, have neither rendered service nor deposited the bond amount under the conditions of compulsory rural service bond (bond). MP Medical Council has issued show cause notice to him. Reply has been sought within 15 days. After this, action will be taken to suspend the registration of those who do not respond.
Explain that under the compulsory Gramin Seva Bandha Patra, MBBS and MD-MS degree holder doctors have to serve at the place fixed by the government for one year each. After the strictness of the council, the doctors who did not serve have deposited Rs 75 crore as bond amount.
In view of the shortage of doctors in the state, compulsory rural service bond was implemented in 2002. In this, there was a condition that after MBBS for one year and after MD-MS for two years, one would have to serve at the place fixed by the health department. Later, after the strike of the Junior Doctors Association, the service condition of one year was fixed instead of two after MD-MS. In lieu of not giving one year’s service, there was a condition to deposit Rs 5 lakh for doctors with MBBS degree and Rs 10 lakh for PG. Between 2002 and 2018, 3899 doctors who came out of five government medical colleges of the state had neither deposited the bond amount nor provided service. After this, strictness was started, 2700 doctors deposited Rs 75 crore of bonds, but the rest of the doctors are not appearing even after repeated notices. Officials of the MP Medical Council said that the addresses of many doctors have also changed. Because of this, even the notice is not reaching them. Please inform that notices were sent to them only through the respective medical colleges.
