Mumbai Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) supremo Raj Thackeray’s warning in the matter of loudspeakers has loosened the hands and feet of the Uddhav Thackeray government of Maharashtra. CM Uddhav Thackeray and State Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil will take a decision in this regard by holding a meeting today. Raj Thackeray had given an ultimatum that if the loudspeakers installed in mosques are not removed by May 3, then the people of his party will recite Hanuman Chalisa 5 times a day by placing loudspeakers in front of the mosques. Raj Thackeray had first raised the question of giving azaan loudly through loudspeakers of mosques at a rally in Mumbai on the day of Gudi Padwa.
On the other hand, news related to this is from Nashik. The Commissioner of Police in Nashik has issued an order that before May 3, the management of all religious places should take permission from the police to install loudspeakers. The police commissioner has warned of legal action against those who do not do so. At the same time, it has also been said that if anyone did any religious discourse or recitation through loudspeaker without approval, then he would also have to face action. This is also being linked to Raj Thackeray’s warning.
Let us inform that apart from Raj Thackeray, Bajrang Dal and other Hinduist organizations in many parts of the country have also protested against giving azaan by installing loudspeakers at mosques. By the way, the famous singer Sonu Nigam was the first to raise his voice against giving Azaan like this. A few years ago, Sonu had said that hearing the loud sound of azaan from the loudspeaker early in the morning disturbs his sleep. Now this issue is catching on again. Raj Thackeray has said that he has no objection to Namaz, but he does not approve of Azaan on loudspeaker in any way.
