Maharashtra plays a big role in Indian politics. Politics is continuously gaining strength in Maharashtra, which has 48 Lok Sabha seats. After Uttar Pradesh, all eyes are on Maharashtra. Even after the announcement of the dates of Lok Sabha elections, the issue of distribution of seats among the alliances is still entangled. All parties are demanding more seats. The BJP supported Mahayuti and Indi supported Mahavikas Aghadi alliance is facing new problems every day.
Mahayuti alliance is currently in power in Maharashtra. The grand alliance includes BJP, Shiv Sena with Eknath Shinde faction, Ajit Pawar faction and other allies. All the parties of Mahayuti are at loggerheads among themselves regarding seat sharing. The problem is who to please and who to displease. This will have a direct impact on the Lok Sabha elections. Elections will be held in Maharashtra in 5 phases.
Shiv Sena of Eknath Shinde faction is also demanding respectable seats in Mahayuti. According to sources, Shinde group’s team is demanding at least 15-16 seats in Mahayuti. At present Shinde faction has 13 Lok Sabha MPs in Maharashtra. And currently the Shinde group is demanding 2-3 more seats. According to sources, BJP can contest elections on 28 seats in Maharashtra this time. Shinde’s Shiv Sena may get 15 seats, Ajit Pawar’s NCP may get 4 seats and MNS may get one seat in the grand alliance.
On the other hand, everything is not going well in Shiv Sena of Uddhav Thackeray group. Uddhav faction is demanding 24 seats in Mahavikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra. But Congress and Sharad Pawar faction are in no mood to give more than 21 seats. In Mahavikas Aghadi, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi is also adamant on its insistence and is demanding more than 12 seats. Because of this, there is a dilemma regarding seats in Mahavikas Aghadi.
