Maheshwar (Naiduniya News). Religious and tourism city Maheshwar is the oldest Shiva city in the world. This city is proud of five thousand years old rich history, art, religion, culture and archaeological heritage. Due to the picturesque ghats of the Narmada coast and the wide range of pagodas, it was also called Gupta Kashi in the Puranas. On the occasion of Mahashivratri, about two lakh devotees of Nimar-Malwa region will reach here and offer their devotion to Shiva by taking a dip in Maa Reva in this holy city. On this festival, Shiva will be worshiped by worshiping and anointing in ancient pagodas like Kaleshwar, Jwaleshwar, Kadambeshwar, Baneshwar, Kashi Vishwanath, Rajarajeshwar, Ahilyeshwar, Rameshwar, Baneshwar, Matangeshwar, Manokamneshwar, Siddheshwar, Vriddhakaleshwar etc. Bhajan Kirtan will be organized with Jagran on Mahashivratri in the temple. In view of the coming crowd, the administration has also made its preparations. Additional police force including barricades has also been called from the district headquarters to control the crowd. Heavy vehicles will be diverted.
Special sweet Ghevar is being manufactured
Ghevar sweets are specially prepared on the occasion of Mahashivratri in the city. Due to the fasting of Mahashivratri, about 10 quintals of sweets are sold. Preparations start a week in advance for making it. Rameshwar Kumrawat, who made it, told that its solution is prepared by mixing the flour of Singhade with milk and water. In a special type of pan, it is put in hot ghee through the fingers. After this, special sugar syrup is offered on it. This sweet is made only on Mahashivratri festival in a year. Hoteliers Pritam Solanki and Dharmendra Yadav told that on the day of Mahashivratri, about 10 quintals of sweets are sold from the hotels of the city. Apart from this, there is also a lot of sale of sugar tubers on Mahashivratri festival.
Special broadcast on Shivratri
Gross. The program to be held in Omkareshwar on March 1 will be telecast from Akashvani Kendra Khandwa on Mahashivratri. Praveen Shrimali of Radio Audience Association told that Mahant Kesarpuri, Rahul Goswami, Village Patel Anok Singh, Patwari Sanjay Patidar will give information about the importance of Lord Shiva and about the fair arrangement. The program will be telecast from 8.30 pm to 9 pm.
