The Make in India program of the Central Government has now become a hit at the global level. Telecom equipment made in India is now being exported to more than 100 countries. The Department of Telecommunications has given this information. The way innovations are taking place in the field of communication all over the world, it can prove to be positive for India. Last year, India exported telecom equipment worth 18.2 billion dollars i.e. about 1.52 lakh crore rupees.

Equipment being exported to western countries

Madhu Arora, member of the Digital Communication Commission in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), told the Defence Sector ICT Conclave that many Indian telecom companies have made their mark in Western countries, including the US. He further said that recently the Indian Army has integrated a chip-based 4G mobile base station made in India, which will be used for their own research and development.

India is also working for emerging technologies such as AI and blockchain in the African market. India has become one of the top-5 big investors in the African market with $75 billion. Many Indian technology companies are working for digital transformation in the African continent.

The glory of Make in India policy

The Make in India policy of the Central Government has given a new dimension to the manufacturing of electronic devices in the country. Big technology companies are manufacturing their products in India and exporting them from here. Big technology companies like Google, Apple, Samsung are manufacturing their smartphones, tablets, wearable devices etc. in India and exporting them in India as well as abroad. High quality equipment made for the telecom sector is also being manufactured in India and is being exported to more than 100 foreign countries.
