State Bank of India (SBI) alerts its users from time to time regarding the security of accounts. Now the bank has shared some important security related tips to the users. Along with this, the country’s largest lender bank has also been directed to the customers to ‘Stay Safe with SBI’. Giving information, users have been advised to never react to any message and also check its veracity.
Through a tweet, SBI said that to keep the account safe, no one should be allowed to access the account. Always check that fraud is happening with you before letting anyone in. If in doubt, be alert immediately and inform the bank after verifying the veracity. “Check your messages to monitor your account activities,” SBI said.
SBI sends messages only with this shortcode
The bank said that if any such message comes from an unknown place, then the account holders should not give any reply on it. Also its veracity should be checked. The bank only sends messages to the customers with the shortcode “SBI/SB” such as SBIBNK, SBIINB, SBIPSG, SBYONO, if you get the message from these codes then it means that it is the official message of the bank.
Do not reply to unknown sources
Apart from this, the bank has also alerted the customers that they should never reply to messages from any unknown source. The Bank has informed on the website that never give any personal information through text message or phone call, which may contain account number, password or sensitive information, otherwise you may be cheated.
Data can be taken by sending tempting messages
SBI has informed that they never send email/SMS or make phone calls to obtain customer identification. The bank said that fraudsters send tempting messages to people, so that people can easily get trapped and share their bank related information. But never fall in the trap of such tempting messages.
