New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing tension with India, Maldives Foreign Minister Musa Jamir has come to New Delhi on his first foreign visit. As soon as he reached the capital Delhi, Musa Zameer posted on X and said that I have come to New Delhi on my first bilateral official visit to India. I look forward to having productive interactions with India, strengthening the ties between the two countries and experiencing the vibrant Indian culture.
Maldivian Foreign Minister Musa Zameer had also made a post before flying from Maldives, in which he had written that I am leaving for India on my first bilateral official visit. During this time, I look forward to meeting my counterpart and Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar for the mutual benefit of India and Maldives. We will discuss deepening and enhancing cooperation with India during our visit.
India welcomed lentils
After reaching India, Foreign Ministry officials welcomed Maldivian Minister Musa Jamir. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote that Musa Zamir’s official visit to India is welcome. He wrote in the post on Twitter that during Musa Jamir’s visit, bilateral and regional issues of India and Maldives are to be discussed and ways to provide impetus to our multi-dimensional relations are to be explored.
President Muizzu’s perspective started changing
Mohd., who showed love to China after being elected the new President of Maldives. Muizzu’s perspective regarding India has now started changing. In fact, after the dispute with Maldives escalated, Indian tourists canceled all their bookings for Maldives and India stopped supporting Maldives. Due to this the condition of Maldives started deteriorating. Then Muizzu realized his mistake and openly asked PM Modi for help for the development of Maldives. Now Muizzu has sent his Foreign Minister to New Delhi to restore relations with India.
