Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu has expressed grief, calling the landslide in Wayanad an unimaginable tragedy. He expressed deep condolences on the loss of life and property due to the landslide in Wayanad, Kerala on Wednesday. Muizzu said that it is an ‘unimaginable tragedy’. Before Muizzu, China had also expressed deep condolences on the Wayanad landslide.

Let us tell you that at least 167 people died and more than 200 people were injured in the landslide that occurred after heavy rains in Wayanad district of Kerala on Tuesday. There are also reports of several dozen people missing. Rescue workers are removing the debris at the spot. The number of casualties at the spot is expected to increase. In a message sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Muizzu expressed condolences on behalf of the government and people of Maldives.
