Nitish met Mamta, will there be a meeting of the opposition in Bihar?
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday and she pitched for an alliance of opposition parties. Both the leaders emphasized the need to prepare together for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The meeting was described as positive in which Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav was also present. Coming out of the meeting, Mamta Banerjee said, we have to give this message that we are all together. Mamta Banerjee said, I have made only one request to Nitish Kumar. Jayaprakash ji’s movement started from Bihar. If we hold an all-party meeting in Bihar, we can decide where to go next. She said, I want to make BJP a big zero. He has become a bigger hero with media support and lies. On the question of Congress joining the opposition unity, Banerjee said, “All parties are involved.”
Final talks done, says Nitish after meeting Rahul Gandhi
In view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the exercise of uniting the opposition camp has started. Before Nitish’s visit to Bengal, he met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former President Rahul Gandhi on 12th of this month. When the leaders reached the media after the meeting, they termed the meeting as historic. Mallikarjun Kharge said, we discussed many things in this historic meeting. Kharge said that in the coming times all the opposition parties have to unite and fight the elections unitedly. Together we will work on this path. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that talks have been finalized and on the basis of this, more and more parties have to be brought together. We will try to unite more and more parties across the country. Everyone will agree, sit together, walk together. This thing has been decided. On the question related to the parties, he said that the day he will sit, he will know that day. Rahul Gandhi termed the meeting historic in terms of opposition unity.
Nitish and Tejashwi met Akhilesh Yadav
Nitish Kumar reached UP directly after meeting Mamta Banerjee in Bengal. Arriving here, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that efforts are being made to unite as many opposition parties as possible to remove the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power in the next general elections. Targeting the BJP government, he said that efforts are being made to change the history of the country. The Janata Dal United (JDU) leader alleged that no welfare work was being done by the present government, and it was relying only on publicity. Nitish Kumar was talking to reporters after meeting SP chief Akhilesh Yadav at the Samajwadi Party (SP) office. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav. On this occasion, Akhilesh Yadav said that inflation is at the highest level ever and the BJP government needs to be removed immediately.
Meeting with Arvind Kejriwal, will AAP get support?
The Aam Aadmi Party was projecting itself as an alternative in the next elections. However, after the rapid political equations that have changed in the past, the question is whether he will come with the rest of the opposition parties. The day Nitish Kumar meets Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, on the same day he also meets Delhi CM Kejriwal. At the same time Arvind Kejriwal had received notice from CBI and at that time Nitish Kumar said that he is a well-known person and will respond to all actions at an appropriate time. Nitish Kumar said that this is the reason why we are trying to unite more and more parties against BJP. However, a few days after this meeting, a senior functionary of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that his party would fight the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on its own without any alliance across the country. AAP’s National General Secretary Sandeep Pathak said these things. Now the question is what will be the next step of Aam Aadmi Party.
Will Mamta Banerjee’s talk prove to be true?
Although Nitish Kumar was engaged in efforts to ensure opposition unity for the last several months, but due to some obstacles, his efforts could not move forward effectively. Now once again he is active. Last time, the interest of Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party was visible in keeping the Congress out of the front of the opposition parties. KCR was also involved in this. Although now the situation has changed a bit. At the same time, Nitish Kumar believed from the beginning that without the inclusion of the Congress, there is no meaning of opposition unity. However, earlier Nitish was not getting that much attention from the Congress. But after the membership of Rahul Gandhi, the situation has changed a bit. However, the road is still not easy. Don’t know what decision NCP chief Sharad Pawar will take at the last moment. Nitish is meeting KCR, Kejriwal with Nitish Kumar but will he agree to come together. All the leaders are talking about frontline against BJP but still a lot is yet to be decided. Karnataka assembly elections are due followed by Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh assembly elections. Out of these two states are currently ruled by the Congress. A lot will depend on the results of these states as well.
