Manish Sisodia’s Bail Plea Order Reserved: Supreme Court reserves decision on Manish Sisodia’s bail plea

New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia did not get any relief even today. The Supreme Court reserved its order on the bail plea of Sisodia, who is lodged in Tihar Jail in the Delhi liquor policy scam case. Earlier on May 21, the Delhi High Court had rejected his bail plea. Challenging the order of the High Court, Sisodia has appealed to the Supreme Court for bail.

Manish Sisodia was arrested on 26 February 2023 and since then he is in jail and has approached the court several times for bail, but due to serious allegations, his bail application is rejected every time. While rejecting Manish Sisodia’s bail plea, Delhi High Court judge Swarn Kanta Sharma had said that Sisodia is very influential and can tamper with the evidence if he gets bail, hence there is no basis for granting him bail.

Let us tell you that in its charge sheet, ED has called Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal the kingpin of this scam and Manish Sisodia the main accused. In this case, the High Court has rejected Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea yesterday. Kejriwal was first arrested by ED in this case, after which he was arrested by CBI from ED custody. Kejriwal has got bail from the Supreme Court in the ED arrest case, but due to his arrest by CBI, he could not come out of jail. He had knocked the door of the High Court in this case, but Kejriwal did not get relief from there. Now Kejriwal can file a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the order of the High Court. AAP MP Sanjay Singh was also arrested in this case, but later he got bail.
