Chandigarh Chandigarh MP and former Union Minister Manish Tiwari presided over the meeting of the State Level Advisor and Monitoring Committee to review the functioning of various central schemes running in Chandigarh.
During the meeting, he advised the officials to formulate a comprehensive policy for rehabilitation of all families demolished in various slum removal operations from 2007 to 2025.
Similarly, he asked the officials to ensure that the Dudumajra dump should be fully cleaned by completing the deadline given to various constitutional bodies including Parliament Standing Committee on NGT, Parliament, Housing and Urban Development and various constitutional bodies including Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Tiwari also asked the officials of the Chandigarh Housing Board to implement the change as per the requirement and to prepare the agenda items for the lump sum exemption scheme for those who do not pay the outstanding amount.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Amit Kumar, Chandigarh Housing Board CEO Ajay Chagati, former Mayor Kamlesh Kumari, former chairman of Punjab and Haryana Bar Association, BM Khanna, Committee Member Advocate DPS Randhawa and other dignitaries and officials of Chandigarh.
