New Delhi: The Supreme Court today heard the bail plea filed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide Bibhav Kumar. Bibhav is accused of attacking Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal. Justice Suryakant’s bench asked tough questions to lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who is representing Bibhav.
Also, the Supreme Court adopted a very strict attitude and issued a notice to Delhi Police and sought a reply on Bibhav’s bail plea. Now the next hearing will be on Wednesday, August 7. The Supreme Court also made a strong comment. The Supreme Court commented that she was not ashamed of doing this. She is a woman. We also give bail to contract killers, murderers. But in this case, what kind of moral firmness is there?
Justice Suryakant asked tough questions
Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, while defending Vibhav, said that the FIR was registered three days later. Swati Maliwal went to the police station but returned without registering an FIR. Singhvi said that she went (to the police) on the first day, but did not lodge any complaint. But then the complaint was lodged after several days. Justice Suryakant asked whether Maliwal called 112? If yes, then this proves your claim that she fabricated the story to be false.
Singhvi admitted that she had gone to the CM’s residence. Justice Suryakant Kant asked whether the CM’s official residence is a private residence? Are such rules needed for this? We are surprised, this is not about minor or major injuries. The High Court has heard everything properly. Singhvi said that the charge sheet has been filed.
