This is how Google earns money?

  1. Google’s mobile operating system i.e. Android OS has crores of users all over the world. Apart from this, Google also develops operating systems for smartwatches, smart TVs, tablets etc. Google does not charge users for using the ecosystem of mobile, tablet and smart TV. Despite this, the company earns billions of rupees.
  2. The main source of Google’s income is advertising. The tech company earns this money by showing advertisements to users in its ecosystem. You must have also noticed that whenever you search anything on Google on your smartphone, tablet or other device, some advertisements appear on top. Google charges a hefty amount from companies for these advertisements.
  3. Apart from this, the company also earns through Google services such as YouTube, Google Play Store, Google Maps etc. Before opening any video on YouTube, you must be seeing advertisements. You cannot even skip many of these advertisements. Google also earns through these advertisements.
  4. Google also earns money by providing its navigation service to app aggregators. For this, the company has partnered with travel app aggregators across the world. In return for using navigation (Google Maps), the company takes a service charge from the aggregators, which is up to 30 percent of their earnings.
  5. Google also earns money through subscription of its cloud services such as Google Drive. Google charges subscription charges from users for business and professional as well as personal cloud storage. The company also earns huge amount of money through this.
  6. Google also charges service charges from companies that make apps for its Android operating system. Google charges these companies for app development and other services.
  7. Apart from this, Google also has many such services for which the company charges the end user. In this way, Google earns billions.
