He said that in the last ten years, medical seats have been increased to one lakh, but in the next five years, 75 thousand MBBS seats will be increased. How many MBBS seats are there right now (MBBS Seats in India)
At present, the total number of MBBS seats in the country is 1.12 lakh. Recently, the government presented its details in the Parliament, in which it was said that till the year 2014, there were a total of 387 medical colleges in the country, which have now increased to 731. This means that 344 new medical colleges have been opened in the last ten years. The data given by the government states that till the year 2014, the total number of MBBS seats was 51,384, which has now increased to 1.12 lakh. In this way, there has been an increase of 118 percent in MBBS seats in the country. Now if 75000 MBBS seats increase in the next five years, then it will reach 1.87 lakh.

PM Narendra Modi has talked about increasing 75000 MBBS seats. How this will happen can be guessed from the fact that in the answer given by the government to a question in the House, it was also said that the central government plans to open a medical college in every district and an AIIMS in every state. It was told that the ratio of the central and state government’s share in the construction of the medical college will be 60:40. In such a situation, if the government’s plan comes into effect, then it is obvious that the opening of new colleges will increase the MBBS seats.

More than 13 lakh candidates have qualified this year’s NEET UG exam. While the number of applicants was about 24 lakh. Out of these, only 23 lakh appeared for the exam, after the results were declared, more than 13 lakh qualified. The most competition is for admission in MBBS, but people with low ranks are not able to get admission in MBBS.
