MBBS Course Fee Hike in Punjab: Medical education has become even more expensive in Punjab. The government has increased the fees of government and private medical colleges by 5 percent. For this, the Medical Education and Research Department, Punjab has issued a notification to regulate MBBS admission by increasing the fees of MBBS course by 5 percent in all government and private medical colleges of the state.
According to the notification issued, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) will conduct admission for 1,550 seats. These seats include 750 seats in four government medical colleges and a total of 800 seats in four private and two minority status medical institutions of the state.
Fees of private and government colleges increased for MBBS course
According to a notification issued by the Medical Education and Research Department, Punjab, the full fee for MBBS course in four government medical colleges in Amritsar, Patiala, Faridkot and Mohali has been increased from Rs 9.05 lakh to Rs 9.50 lakh. The full MBBS course fee for management quota seats in all private medical colleges has been increased from Rs 55.25 lakh to Rs 58.02 lakh. The fee for government quota seats in private colleges has been increased from Rs 21.48 lakh to Rs 22.54 lakh.
Seats are filled under these quotas
In every private medical college, 50 percent seats are reserved under government quota. The remaining 50 percent seats include 35 percent management quota and 15 percent NRI quota. At the same time, there has been no change in the fee structure for the seats of NRI quota. The fee for this seat is Rs 9234615 lakh as before. CMC, Ludhiana has not made any change in its fee structure for MBBS course.
