Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Saturday registered a case under the provisions of Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) regarding the firing incident outside the house of actor Salman Khan in Bandra on April 14. Giving information about this, an official said that apart from the alleged shooters Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), Sonu Kumar Chander Bishnoi (37) and Anuj Thapan (32) along with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol. MCOCA has also been imposed on Bishnoi.
Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in Sabarmati jail of Gujarat.
Gupta and Pal, residents of Bihar, were arrested from Kutch in Gujarat on April 16, while Sonu Bishnoi and Thapan were arrested from Punjab on April 25. Let us tell you that Anmol Bishnoi, who lives in Canada, had taken responsibility for the firing episode through a Facebook post. Anmol’s brother gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is currently lodged in Gujarat’s Sabarmati jail. Let us tell you that before this, ‘Lookout Circular’ i.e. LOC was issued against Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Lawrence’s brother Anmol lives in Canada.
A police officer said that Anmol Bishnoi had taken responsibility for the firing and the investigation has also revealed his involvement, after which the Mumbai Police issued an LOC on Friday. “Anmol and Lawrence Bishnoi have been named as wanted accused in the case,” the officer said. Anmol Bishnoi lives in Canada and often visits America, but the IP address of the account from which he had posted on Facebook and claimed responsibility for the firing, has been found to be Portugal.
Gupta and Pal opened fire on April 14
The police had registered an FIR under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC after two motorcycle-riding men opened fire at Salman Khan’s Bandra residence ‘Galaxy Apartment’ on the morning of April 14. Police had arrested Gupta and Pal from Bhuj in Gujarat on April 16. Officials claimed that Pal had allegedly opened fire while Gupta was riding the motorcycle.
