Dausa. Collector Devendra Kumar called upon the media persons and said that your active and positive participation will make the concept of water conservation and water harvesting in the district come true.
The Collector was discussing with media persons at the ‘Media Round Table’ program organized under the ‘Vande Ganga’ Water Conservation Jan Abhiyan in the Collectorate Auditorium on Wednesday. The Collector provided detailed information about the development works and innovations in the direction of water conservation and water harvesting and plantation in the district under the campaign. While interacting with media persons, he said that water conservation and water harvesting are done in a scientific manner. In this, a certain watershed area is first marked and then various water structures are constructed in view of the local conditions and natural flow of water. He said that there has been a tradition of accumulating water in the steps since ancient times in Dausa. At present, various efforts are being made for water harvesting like Enicut, Trenches, Talaiyan, Farm Pound and Roof Top Water Harvesting. Also, measures are being taken to reduce water harness.
He informed that this year there is a plan to plant Napier grass for pasture development, which will continue to yield continuously for 5-6 years after taking care of one or two years. Gram Panchayat will be able to earn additional income by auctioning this produce. He informed that this year plantation will also be done in Mianwaki method, in which plants are planted nearby, which is intense.
He explored the importance of groundwater collection and interacted in detail about the outline of the campaign, activities and upcoming plans. He informed that various programs like cleanliness, plantation, awareness of environmental protection have been organized across the district, in which participation of public and public representatives is being ensured.
Deputy Conservator of Forests Ajit Udoi, while presenting the plantation plantation in the district, said that this year a target has been set to plant more than 17 lakh saplings in the district during the monsoon. Neelkanth Green Langs is being developed near the city of Dausa, in which he also called upon all media persons to become an active participant.
Narendra Kumar Meena, the nodal officer of the campaign and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, said that this year about two to two and a half thousand saplings will be planted in each gram panchayat, for which water arrangements and care and security arrangements will be made. Warships will be done all around, tubewells will be excavated for water and guards will be deployed for security.
The program was attended by the representatives of print media, electronic media, digital media institutions as well as social media influencer. He made an active participation by making a meaningful discussion, giving his important creative suggestions to increase water conservation and greenery in the district. Additional District Collector Ramswaroop Chauhan, Superintending Engineer Harikesh Meena of the Department of Watershed Development and Conservation Department, ML Meena, Executive Engineer of Irrigation Department and Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations Department Sohanlal were present on the occasion.
