These days, the trial of Rapid Rail is going on continuously here. The train is running from Meerut South to Sahibabad every fifteen minutes. Looking at the successful trial, it is expected that it can be officially flagged off very soon.
At present, Namo Bharat trains run on the RRTS corridor in a 34 km section from Sahibabad to Modi Nagar North. There are a total of eight stations in this section – Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South and Modi Nagar North. There is parking facility at all stations, but Meerut South station will have the largest parking on the RRTS corridor.
This station is on the border of Meerut. With the running of this train, the travel of people living in other nearby areas including Mohiuddinpur, Bhudbaral, Bahadurpur, Aminagar, Chhajjupur, Kharkhoda and Kadarabad will become easier. With the start of operation of Namo Bharat trains from Meerut South, people will be able to reach Delhi in about 30 minutes.
Meerut South Station, the first station in the Meerut region
Meerut South Station will be the first station in the Meerut region on the RRTS corridor. Along with RRTS trains, metro services for the Meerut region will also operate at this station. 2 tracks have been built here for RRTS trains. One track has been built for the operation of local metro service MRTS trains in Meerut. A total of 3 tracks and 3 platforms are being built at this station. The station will have a total of three levels: ground, mezzanine, concourse and platform. The length of the station is about 215 meters, width about 36 meters and height about 22 meters.
There will be a total of 13 stations in Meerut
There will be a distance of one to two km between metro stations in Meerut and the size of the metro stations will also be smaller than the RRTS stations. There will be a total of 13 stations in Meerut, out of which 4 stations Meerut South, Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul and Modipuram Depot will be RRTS stations, where both Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro train services will be available, while other stations will be Meerut Metro stations, where only metro service will be available, Namo Bharat trains will pass these stations non-stop and move ahead.

According to sources, regular train operations can begin from June 24. The premium class fare from Sahibabad to Meerut South station can be up to Rs 100. Currently, the train is operating daily between Sahibabad and Modinagar North from 6 am to 10 pm.
The biggest parking at Meerut South Station
For the convenience of passengers on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, the largest parking is being built at Meerut South Station in Uttar Pradesh. For the convenience of passengers at the station, two parking lots are being built at both the entrances of the station, the construction of which is almost complete. Two parking lots are being built at this station in an area of about 13000 square meters. There will be a provision for parking about 1200 four-wheelers and two-wheelers in both these parking lots. Facility for parking auto rickshaws will also be available in both parking lots. Special provision has been made at this station for the facility of pickup and dropoff at the station for vehicles coming from both Meerut and Delhi. The station has been designed in such a way that vehicles coming from the main road will be able to easily drop and pick up passengers at the station.
Ramp for easy entry into the station
Along with this, keeping in mind the movement of Divyang passengers, a separate place has been designated for parking their vehicles and ramps have also been built for easy entry into the station, so that they do not face any inconvenience while traveling in Namo Bharat Train. Special EV charging stations will also be built in the parking lot for charging the electric vehicles of the passengers. Passengers will be able to charge their e-vehicles at the station while traveling in Namo Bharat Train. This will make charging the vehicle very easy for e-vehicle holders. Here, there will be a facility to charge both two-wheeler and four-wheeler e-vehicles.
