New Delhi . The effect of snowfall in the hilly areas is being seen in the capital Delhi. The mercury is continuously falling and the minimum temperature may reach 4 degrees in the coming days.
Thursday was the coldest December day in Delhi in the last three years. In the morning, people were seen using bonfires to protect themselves from the light fog and cold winds.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 6 degrees and the maximum temperature was 21 degrees. The Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog as well as severe cold in Delhi-NCR from December 14.
According to the Regional Meteorological Center based in New Delhi, the minimum temperature in Pusa, Delhi reached 3.2 degrees Celsius on Thursday (December 12). Cold wave conditions were also seen in many areas.
On December 12, the minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 22.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, cold wave conditions will persist in some parts of North India in the coming weeks. The department has issued an alert for Delhi and surrounding areas. According to the department, there will be a cold wave in the national capital today, due to which the temperature will drop and the cold will increase. The Meteorological Department has also instructed people to remain alert in view of the cold wave.
According to IMD, on December 14, the minimum temperature in Delhi will be 6 degrees and the maximum temperature will be 21 degrees. Fog will also persist during this period. On December 15, the minimum temperature will be recorded at 6 degrees and the maximum temperature will be recorded at 20 degrees.
At the same time, on December 18 and 19, the minimum temperature is expected to be 6 degrees and the maximum temperature will be 20 degrees.
While on one hand cold wave has started in Delhi, on the other hand there is no significant improvement in air quality.
AQI 308 in West Delhi, 202 in Shadipur, 268 in Punjabi Bagh, 259 in North Campus, 301 in Mundka, 294 in Wazirpur, 289 in Ashok Vihar, 313 in Dwarka Sector-8, 316 in Rohini, 295 in RK Puram, Chandni. 175 in Chowk, 173 in Lodhi Road, 265 AQI has been recorded in Burari, 293 in Sonia Vihar.
